1 pound fresh green beans
5 slices bacon 1 chopped onion 4 new potatoes salt to taste 1 tsp black pepper 4 cups water Snap beans and wash well.Place a large pot over medium heat and cook bacon until light brown.Add the beans and all the other ingredients and water..Simmer for about 1 hour or until nice and tender..Add additional water if necessary... I can hardly wait for all of the fresh vegies to be here... |

Sounds good, but why would you cook beans for an hour? Wouldn't they get totally mushy?

Add a sliced (fresh from the garden!) tomato and some homemade cornbread and I'm in heaven. Yum! :thumbup:
