You can fry them , make pies with them etc. , etc.

I also l ike using very green tomatoes for my relish (my grandmother's recipe.) As they begin ripening, they get softer, and are harder to run through through the vegetable grinder.

Corn meal and buttermilk coated fried green tomatoes with remoulade sauce....YUM..MEE! :)

Love Fried Green Tomatoes. But I make them with pink tomatoes. They aren't quite ripe, but aren't really green anymore. They need to hold their shape. I dredge the slices in flour, fry in butter (the real stuff), and season well with salt and pepper. After the tomatoes are out of the pan, pour in some whole milk to make a gravy to pour over them. Serve on whole wheat toast.

No, you can use any green there is in your garden. I make India relish at the end of garden season.

went to our local "tomatoe festival" here in Los Banos, and had an order of fried green tomatoes along with a dipping sauce............mmmmmhhh good
