Actually, I think fudge would be wonderful eaten with a spoon--creamy. I bought the ingredients to make some this year, but haven't done so yet. 'm waiting for granddaughter's visit. We made a gingerbread visit when she visited about two weeks ago. But we both love chocolate. Good luck!

The biggest tip I can give you.... #1 Use a nice heave sauce pot. (good quality) It makes a huge difference. #2, Use a candy themometer (it has to be the right temperture. #3 Watch closely #4 (said with a big smile) all these trial runs is going to make you an expert. Yes, I still can't make good fudge. But my mom still tries to coach me through. lol, I can't make pies either. They come out looking picture beautiful. They taste horrible. (garbage material) LOL. Good Luck.

I make a lot of fudge over the holiday. The simple kind, Never Fail Fudge on the marshmallow fluff jar. Sometimes instead of the semi sweet choc chips, I use white choc chips, peanut butter chips or butterscotch chips. Love them all. Good luck

I use the Kraft Fantasy Fudge recipe that you do in the microwave. never fails & gets eaten fast & lots of requests for the recipe. If you need it just PM me & I'll send it to you :)

easiest fudge ever and SOOOOO good!
"Fudge Tout de Suite"
1 lb. powdered sugar 1/2 c. cocoa 1/4 c. milk 1/2 c. butter 1 T. vanilla 1/2 - 1 c. chopped nuts Sift sugar to remove lumps -- if there are none, don't bother. Place in 8-cup micro-safe bowl and stir in cocoa. Add milk and butter. Don't Stir. Zap on high for 2 minutes. Remove and stir well to mix. Add vanilla and nuts; stir to combine. Pour into greased dish. Place in freezer for 20 min. or fridge for 1 hour. Cut into squares and cuss the day I told you about this! |
This is the recipe I've been making since the 70's. Never had it fail.
:) FANTASY FUDGE ¾ c. margarine 1 (7 oz) jar marshmallow crème 3 c. sugar 1 c. chopped nuts 1 (5 oz) can evaporated milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 (12 oz ) pkg. semi sweet chocolate chips Microwave margarine in 4 qt bowl on high 1 min or until margarine is melted. Add sugar & milk; mix well. Microwave on high 5 minutes (stir after 3 min.) until mixture begins to boil. Mix well, scrape bowl. Microwave 5 ½ min. (stir after 3 min) Stir in chocolate chips until melted. Add marshmallow crème, nuts and vanilla, mix well. Pour into buttered 13 x 9 inch pan. Cool at room temp. Cut into squares. Yield: 3 pounds. For peanut butter fudge substitute 1 cup peanut butter for the chocolate chips. 12/18/09 mistakenly put in whole 18 oz jar of crunchy peanut butter & it was the best fudge!! No problems setting up either. Dec 2011- Used peanut butter chips in place of peanut butter & worked great |

I just made some this evening, easy too. I make this one every xmas now...
One can sweetened condensed milk 2 c. chocolate chips 1/2 c. nuts, chopped (I use walnuts) 1 tsp. vanilla Use a large glass bowl, melt milk & chips in microwave on high for around a minute. Then stir to blend & make sure chips are melted. Stir in nuts & vanilla, then pour in a greased (or foil lined) 8x8 pan & chill till firm, (I usually chill overnite to be sure). Couldn't find my old recipe, so went looking online! Use to do my on the stove, but wow, this microwave way was much faster! May need more nuts next time, but will see when we tried it. I use walnuts, but I'm sure you could use any kind you like. No more cooking methods for me, this fudge never fails, is quick & yummy!... |
Yes, the easiest and never fail is the Never Fail Fudge recipe on the marshmallow fluff jar as slk350 suggests. I have made it dozens of time and it always come out right.
|
Has anyone ever used flavored extracts instead of vanilla in their fudge? I bought some rum raisin fudge one time that was to die for!
|
I make fudge every year. I always use the recipe on the marshmallow fluff jar. Here are a few in hints: Always make fudge on a clear day not cloudy,so my grandmother said. Also time carefully, start timing when the milk, sugar, butter mix hits a rapid boil and cook for four minutes exactly. Stir constantly but don't scrap the sides and bottom too often, just keep it moving. Have everything ready to dump in, open the jar of fluff, have chip bag open, measuring spoon out and vanilla bottle open. Have the pan ready for fudge to be poured in. Do all of this before putting heat to pan. If using an electric stove, get the pan off the burner at exactly four minutes of rapid boil. Your fudge is grainy because the sugar mixture did not cook long enough.
|
Buy marshmallow cream and follow directions. Count the boiling time when the whole top is boiling hard. Put in fridge after it cools and leave it there for an hour or so. Guarantee it will work.

Fudge
Go to " The Cooking Mom" on Fox 11 news, living with Amy and get her recipe...I've made her fudge many times and it always turned out better than any I've ever made...If you can't find it I will give it to you
