Help! Need a very EASY and quick Christmas candy recipe

Hi Friends - I just found out I need to make some Christmas candy - and I need a recipe for something easy and quick.

I have on hand the following items:
  • Chocolate chips
  • Peanut butter
  • Pecans
  • Confectioners sugar
  • Vanilla
  • White and chocolate bark (candy coating)
  • Brown sugar
  • Butter, eggs, milk
Does anyone have any delicious candy recipes I could whip up from some of the above ingredients? Any help would be appreciated. Much thanks.

Holly J.

One of my favorites is white candy bark with pistachios and craisins. Melt the bark, spread on wax paper, sprinkle with pistachios and craisins/raisins. Let harden, then break into pieces. You could easily sub pecans or pretzels if you have them.

Did you look at the recipe for White Trash? I think you might have the ingreients for that. I did the 2 ingredient fudge recipe from here but you need Betty Crocker frosting to go with Choc. chips.

Go to recipes.com and put in your ingredients. It will find a recipe for you. I love their recipes.

I always make Peanut Butter Balls and you have all the ingredients for those. Someone else posted about the a few days ago, here is the link. http://www.quiltingboard.com/recipes...s-t172536.html

Why don't you melt your chocolate chips, then dip pretzels in the melted chocolate? Put some sprinkles on the top while the chocolate is still warm. I found some holiday shaped pretzels at Meijer and my DD and I just did them up tonight. They look like you worked so hard on them, but they are super easy. You can also get those chocolate melting disks, instead of chocolate chips.

Pretzel bites: I love these

pretzels square or regular
choc candy kisses (dark or milk)
m&m candy (red and green or not)

heat oven 325*, on a cookie sheet place pretzels with space between each, add a choc kiss on top of each and place in oven for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and place a m&m on top and press into chocolate. Refridgerate or place in freezer to reharden the choc. Super easy and attractive, my 5 year old has helped me with several batches of these this year. If you like choc. cover pretzels you will love these.

Enjoy! and Merry Christmas!

Quiltaddict - Thanks for this easy-looking candy recipe. I have everything for them and will be making them tomorrow. They sound yummy. BTW, here is another candy recipe someone just sent me - thought I'd share it here:

PEANUT BUTTER FONDANT

1 lb. confectioners' sugar
1/3 c. butter, softened
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. light corn syrup

Mix all ingredients until blended. Roll fondant between wax paper to 1/4 inch thickness. Spread with peanut butter. Roll the mixture in a "jelly roll fashion." Wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate 2 hours. Cut into slices with serrated knife.

Well here goes.......... super easy and oh sooooooooo good

Take wheat things - spread with peanut butter top with another wheat thin and dip in melted choc. place on wax paper and let choc. set..... they taste just like a butterfinger candy bar.

Let me know what you think.....................

Dear saveaquilt - Thanks for this recipe. I have pretzels, too, and love chocolate covered pretzels. Will try these tomorrow.

Hugs, Holly J.

Ooooh, Butterfingers are one of my favorite! And with just Wheat Thins and peanut butter? Couldn't get much easier. MANY thanks.

I have a recipe for Crockpot Chocolate

2 lbs. Chocolate Almond Bark
1 pkg. German Chocolate Bar
1 - 12 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
dry roasted peanuts (I used pecans)

Place chocolates in crockpot as listed above and place nuts on top. Do not stir.
Set crockpot on low and place lid on crockpot for 3 hours. Do not remove lid until end of 3 hours. Remove lid and stir to combine chocolates and nuts.

Drop by teaspoons full onto wax paper or into candy cups (I purchased the candy cups at Michaels). Makes about 100 candy cups.

A really easy twist to rice cripie treats. Instead of melting marshmellos, Cook a can of sweetened condensed milk til it turns to caramel sauce, then add rice cereal. Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper, when hardened, dip into melted chocolate or bark.

I did an online search and found WAY TOO many recipes, different ingredients, too many choices, LOL. Lots of work just sorting thru them.

I LOVE this recipe ... I've made many different variations, starting with just the hot sugar/butter over saltines then sprinkle coconut on top. Or use chopped nuts of your choice. Then do a diagonal drizzle of white and reg chocolate.

This is a great recipe to make for kids to take to school (without nuts cuz of allergies), for teachers, my PO delivery lady. I like to take some to my local library for the staff. etc etc etc. Fast, easy and so delicious!

wraez 12-22-2011 11:43 AM

oops, I do put coconut on top b4 popping in oven, not after ... it toasts the coconut nicely if you do a heavier sprinkling of coconut than a light one.

Where does one purchase white candy bark? Thanks

ScrapQuilter 12-22-2011 04:58 PM

can be found in most grocery stores................ both the chocolate almond bark and the white.

lfstamper 12-22-2011 05:42 PM

One of my favorites is ritz cracker, peanut butter, a second ritz cracker then dip in chocolate and let harden. Like a reese's cup. Keep in the fridgerator.

wraez 12-22-2011 09:30 PM

One I made for an open house at daycare is easy to make. Dip individual graham crackers in melted choc. White or reg choc. Then set on a drip tray and drizzle green and or red or yellow frosting in patterns over the graham cracker. makes interesting cookies. You can also sprinkle them with any cake or cookie sprinkles or dust with powdered sugar.

ScrapQuilter 12-24-2011 08:49 AM

I forgot all about the graham crackers........... what I did with them was to dip half the cracker in the white choc. when that was set dip the other half in the reg choc......... when that is set you can also do a cute little decoration on the top.

Thanks for reminding me
