I have been making my own bisquick for a couple years now. It is so much BETTER than the store bought. Here is my recipe real similar to the other one.
This makes a lot. 8 cups flour 1 1/4 cups Nonfat Dry Milk Powder 1/4 cup baking powder 1 tablespoon salt 2 cups shortening. Combine flour, milk, baking powder and salt in a very large bowl. Cut in shortening until it resembles coarse cornmeal. Store in tightly closed covered container in a cool place. Makes about 10 cups. I also have a recipe using this mix for my biscuits and I double that recipe and I use up my mix and freeze the biscuits. :) |
What do you use for shortening?

Would you share your biscuit recipe with us? Please.

Thank you, cassiemae, for sharing your recipe!! I love the homemade kind better and like the idea you used non-fat dry milk powder in yours. Now when you use the mix to make biscuits, you can eliminate the need for whole milk. So you would just take 2-1/4 cups biscuit mix, add 2/3 cup water, mix together, knead 10 times, roll 1/2 inch thick and cut w/a 2-1/2 inch cutter or glass. Bake 8-10 min. @450. Is that about what you do? Thanks!!! :D :D
p.s. my Bisquick recipe only makes 6 cups as I don't use it as often so I wouldn't need as much as your recipe calls for although I could halve your recipe for 5 cups. |
Thank you :D:D:D
