The Iced Tea Question has me wondering how to make Iced Coffee
 

Not sure how to make it besides letting my coffee cool. Am going to try. I do enjoy Iced Coffee from mcd's and tim hortons. What does everyone do to make it?

I don't have a real recipe. I make my coffee 1 scoop stronger. I mix the coffee with cream and sugar while it is still hot. I then top it off with ice.

I freeze leftover coffee in ice cube trays so when they melt the iced coffee isn't diluted. I make regular coffee and let it cool and then pour it over the frozen coffee cubes. I only use a bit of milk and no sweetener.

Cold Brew coffee
1-1 1/2 cups fresh ground coffee
4 cups cold water
Put in French Press coffee maker and put into the refrigerator, try not to push the plunger down. Let brew overnight and in the morning, push the plunger down. Your coffee is ready to use and will keep in the refrigerator for several days.

I like to mix the coffee in a glass with dark chocolate syrup and milk.

The cold brew is less acidic and bitter than a hot brew. There are lots of recipes on the internet with different techniques of how to cold brew coffee.

if you don't do the cold brew, the standard is that you make your coffee double strength, let it cool and then add the ice. Making it double strength ensures that it stays palatable when the ice thaws. If you are going to sweeten or flavor it with coffee syrups add those when it is still hot however to aid in the sugar dissolving.
i make ice tea the same way, double strength, either sun tea or with almost boiling water and good quality tea. I'm actually quite partial to English/Irish teas now that i worked over there. I never liked them before. Didn't know how to make tea well prior to living there.

I just make a pot of coffee, let it cool, add ice and once in awhile I like to add Bailey's Irish Crème as an afternoon drink.(But only have that if I know for sure I'm going no where that requires leaving the house). I like to put a lot of ice then the coffee and Bailey's at the same time. Some times I just use what is in the pot left over from breakfast on ice. Depends on my mood. I don't get elaborate.

I just make mine double strength of the coffee since the ice delutes it down.I pour some in a cup if i want sugar and cream before adding the ice so it desolves. My favorite way then is to put it in a blender over ice and it comes out like a frappacino. I also like to use flavored coffees like vanilla or chocolate mint, raspberry tuffle etc. If you don't have flavored coffees then you can still add a bit of vanilla extract or you can add a bit of powder spices to it when brewing the coffee just put it in with the grinds. we like pumpkin pie spice for example. we like experimenting needless to say.on weekends when dh is home we easily go through about 3-4 pots a day. he is a retired navy guy that loves his coffee.

Here is the way I make iced coffee,...it is sinful and habit forming. I like the chocolate, coconut or hazelnut coffee or basically most flavored coffees. I use leftover coffee from the morning pot. I fill one of those large Tervis insulated cups with ice and pour my leftover morning coffee over the ice. I add a little half and half and If the cup is not full, I add a little skim milk and then I pour in a big squirt of Hershey's chocolate syrup (the bad part)....but the oh so good part. I stir with a long tsp. and I think I am having a milk shake...you can also add a shot of baileys cream or kalua for a special treat. That is when company arrives. Don't know what I will do this summer since I now have a keurig and I gave my other coffee maker away. If you are a chocoholic and like coffee, beware, this can be very habit forming. I warned you.

I am going to try this, love the drive through ones.
