Kielbasa Potato Slow Cooker Recipe
Tried this the other night and liked it.
1 kielbasa or smoked sausage rope cut in slices or chunks 32 oz package of frozen hash browns or potato shreds 1 onion diced 2 cups cheddar cheese shreds 1/2 cups milk 1 can cream of mushroom or cream of potato soup 1/2 cup sour cream Salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste Spray crockpot with cooking spray. Place kielbasa, onion and cheese in crock. Mix together. In separate bowl, mix soup, milk and sour cream until well blended. Pour soup mixture over meat, onion and cheese. Blend well and season to taste with salt (may not need any), pepper and garlic powder. Cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 4 hours. Stir occasionally to blend ingredients. I am going to try this recipe using browned ground beef in place of the kielbasa. |
Do you add the hash-browns at the same time as the sausage?

I saw this the other day and printed it out. My recipe says to put the hash browns in with sausage, onion and cheese.

My husband grew up with kielbasa and Taylor ham from NJ/NY delis. We live in the south so he orders it from his favorite deli.
I have found nothing sold in the stores here that comes close to the taste of the kielbasa ordered. We are kinda selfish with it but the kids know when an order comes in. LOL We love potato and kielbasa together.. |
I bet this would be good with ground beef or ham. Good idea!

I made this today and we enjoyed it and there is enough for a few more meals, we had it with coleslaw. Our meat was 375 grams and I chunked it the same size as the hashbrowns and onions.
Next time I would mix everything all in a bowl and then set it into the crockpot. Measurements are kind of hit and miss now, the hashbrowns pack is now only 800 grams, but it still worked out! Thanks for sharing the recipe idea. |
