Korean Food
There's been a lot of talk about Korean Food lately. Somebody Feed Phil did a show on it this season. I don't know a whole lot about the cuisine. I do love Kim Chee, Korean Short Ribs and Gochujang, but that's my limit of knowledge on Korean Food. What do you know about Korean Food? Got any great recipes?

We are so lucky here in Seattle that if there is an ethnic cuisine, we most likely have it here. I enjoy Korean food quite a bit. If you are being fussy/observant, many of our "teriyaki" places are really more Korean than Japanese. Mostly I have it as affordable convenient take out (lucky me) and not home made.
So maybe first thing to look at is Bulgoki, this is something you can do at home https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/...recipe-2009347 Then we have the rice bowl version, of Bibimbap, often served with an egg. https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/...recipe-2040444 |
Oh! Worth a second post, being low carb now I can't do them like I used to but in terms of grains of the world, I love some of the korean multi-grain rice options, like this one:
https://www.maangchi.com/recipe/multigrain-rice Since I have neighborhood grocery stores that specialize in different things, I usually just pick up a premade mix locally (if not just buying it with my takeout). It can be cold in Korean winter and some of these rice dishes are just the right thing for your coastal winter climate. |
I live in a small town in AR and we have a great Korean restaurant. It was started by the grandfather and now the grandson has taken it over from his father.

Aldi used to have a low sugar Korean bbq sauce that I loved but it’s gone away.

We have a Korean restaurant nearby and I really enjoy it. I’ve not tried preparing anything at home.

Iceblossom, thanks for those links. There's Korean food down in the city, but we don't have any restaurants near us. :( In Hawaii, we had Korean Shortribs, but I'm not so sure how, "Korean," it was. There was an old cafe near my work where we would go for lunch and they had the best KS on the island.
