I eat this all the time when I need a sweet fix.

Mix one small container of flavored low fat/low sugar yogurt ( I like Light and Fit)
with one cup of Cool Whip Free.
Or use the Jello 60 calorie pudding cup to mix with the CoolWhip.

This keeps me from eating a bowl of ice cream or a piece of cake.

My goal is not to lose a lot of weight it's to not gain any weight. Somehow that works with my mind better then trying to lose weight.

Thanks Bella...sounds good. I'm looking for recipes now..DH was diagnosed with diabetes a couple of weeks ago and I'm really trying to find new ways to cook.

I love Truvia the new sweetener. It's very safe, made from the stevia plant. And there is no aftertaste or funny taste. There are so many good tasting recipes for diabetics. Your DH shouldn't have to feel deprived while he's managing the diabetes, that's hard enough. One thing I do know is simple carbs has to be limited. I switched to brown rice, whole wheat pasta, and now sweet potatoes instead of regular potatoes because I am border line diabetic. Cindy

I need to try the Truvia...I've been using Splenda and he doesn't really like it. He needs to lose more weight which is what we are concentrating on right now. Of course, this type of diet is really helping with the glucose levels as well. We are going to be eating more "regular" type of food at some point though...so I need recipes that will satisfy that ole' sweet tooth. :wink:

Me??? YOu ask??? I'm not diabetic, nor do I need to lose weight, so I supplement my diet with M&M's.. :lol:

I hadn't baked with the Splenda yet. I'll get some of the brown sugar Splenda...have you baked with the Truvia? Does it do well?

The natural stevia sweetener may be much cheaper but it tastes awful. That's why no one used it much even though it's a great sweetener. It has a strong licorice taste. The Truvia has that strong taste removed. When you can't have real sugar a bad tasting substitute just makes it harder to deal with the life change.

I've taken several of the pecan pies to potlucks and made a label saying sugar free- made with Truvia and the pies were gone before the main courses.

Real sugar has almost tripled in price in this area since Christmas!

Bella, thanks for the link. I'm going to get some of the Truvia next time we go grocery shopping. Those Pecan pies do sound good!
