This recipe is so simple and not too sweet. Hope you enjoy it.
Use your favorite pie crust recipe. Preheat oven to 425-degrees F In large bowl mix together: 3/4-cup sugar, 3 Tablespoons corn starch, 1/4-Teaspoon salt, and 1/2-Teaspoon ground cinnamon Gently fold in 4–5 cups of fresh blueberries into sugar mixture. Line 9-1/2-inch pie dish with pastry. Pour in berry mixture. Dot with 1 Tablespoon of butter. Cut remaining pastry into strips and make a lattice top. Crimp edges. Bake on lower shelf of oven for about 40–50-minutes, or until piecrust turns golden brown. Time depends upon your oven. Top with ice cream or whipped cream. |
Yummy. That sounds so good.

Mmm. Sounds alot like mine. I usually add just a teeny pinch of clove and cardamom to mine. And if you want to make the crust look like a cooking magazine- brush with a beaten egg and sprinkle raw sugar on it. - Shiny crystals.
Also I frequently cut up one ripe peach or nectarine and mix it in with the blueberries. I won a couple of blue ribbons for this pie years ago in CT. I made this a couple of weeks ago for my husband's birthday. |
Oh, Thank you, sounds so good!

WoW..thank you for sharing this. Just 6 months back I tasted blueberry pie for the first time in my life and I absolutely loved it and have become it's big fan. I would love to try this out. Going through your list of ingredients I noticed I will get everything here in India but I have never heard of corn starch. Could you tell me what is corn starch? And if I dont find it is it ok If I skip it. Thanks for the info. xoxo Shikha

Welcome from northern New York. Cornstarch is used for a thickner. If you don't have it, try something you would use in India. Don't just leave it out because your berries and juice will not thicken. Good luck

Thank you for your reply. I went to my grocery store and found it. He also told me it is used in a lot of sweets to thicken them. But as I never had heard the word so thought they won't be available. xoxo Shikha
