I think the stovetop stuffing in the box doesn't have a seasoning packet. I think the bread cubes are seasoned. I'll have to go buy a box and see for myself how this works. My husband loves meatloaf, when I make it I freeze part of it. I go to ladies night twice a month. I thaw it for him so he has a decent meal while I'm dining with my best buddies.

Yes, the Stovetop Stuffing is already seasoned. I did use the entire pkg.

Great info. Meatloaf is one of the meals I can still cook. My recipe is in an old Betty Crocker c.1961 cookbook, called Fluffy Meatloaf.

1 pound hamburger
half pound ground lean pork
3 medium slices bread torn in pieces with 1 1/4 cups milk OR 1 cup milk with 1 cup dry bread crumbs
( I take 4 old dry biscuits and put them in the Cuisinart work bowl and grind them up and then add 1 cup buttermilk)
1 beaten egg
1/4 cup minced onion
1 1/4 teasp salt.
1/4 teasp or Each of the following:
pepper, dry mustard, celery salt, garlic salt, dry mustard and sage.
1 Tlbs. Worchestershire sauce or some ties I put terriaki sauce

Bake 350 degrees for 90 minutes. Put some ketsup on the top the last 15 minutes.

Using dry biscuits is a great tip too. Don't normally have leftover biscuits but maybe I'll make a couple of extras next time and give them a whirl.

I make Meatloaf the same way but my recipe is
2lbs. ground round.
1 box stove top stuffing
1/2 cup of milk
mix all together and bake for 1 hour @ 350. covered with foil.

I have been making it for years. all my family love it. also it can be doubled for more people.

I am going to try this Today!..needed an idea. My 'go to' for yrs is ''sweet & sour meatloaf". The usual meat, eggs, onion, bell pepper, seasoning, bread crumbs. The binder and glaze is 1 can tomato sauce, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup cider vinegar, 2 T. prepared mustard, all mixed together. I put half in the meat, top with the remainder half way thru cooking. I got from a book many yrs ago (wish I still had it), called '365 ways to cook hamburger'.
