21/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 corn syrup
1/4 tsp salt
11/2 tsp vanilla
2 egg whites
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Mix sugar,syrup,water and salt in a 2 quart dish.Microwave on high for 5-6 minutes or until boiling.Cook 8-10 more minutes or until hard ball stage is reached.Beat egg whites until stiff..Pour mix over whites while beating slowly with mixer..Add vanilla and beat another 4-5 minutes, until candy holds shape.Fold in nuts and pour or drop onto wax paper..Work fast...

funny story, I have a sister who is an RN, and a patient come in and the Dr asked what did you have to eat in the last 8 hrs? Patient said I had some divinity last night.The Dr said to my sis later what is divinity is it some kind of religious food?
