These are unbelievably good.
Mt. Dew Apple Dumplings 2 granny smith apples 2 cans 8 ct. crescent rolls 1 cup butter 1 cup brown sugar 3/4 cup white sugar 1 tsp. vanilla cinnamon to taste Preheat oven to 350 degrees Peel and slice apples into 8 wedges each. Unroll crescent rolls and roll up an apple in each one. Place in 9 x 13 pan. In a sauce pan mix butter, sugars, vanilla and cinnamon. Don't boil, but just let the butter and sugars melt. ( you don't want the sugars to crystallize) Pour mixture over the apples and then pour a can of Mt. Dew over all. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes and then uncover and bake another 10 to 12 mins. |
I see you follow Pioneer Woman too! I'm testing these with my paper crafting friends on Monday.
|
Well I don't follow pioneer woman, but maybe I should. Is it a magazine? My stepmother gave me this recipe over Thanksgiving and I just made it yesterday. My daughter came by today and tried it and said it was dangerous. LOL

I also make these with fresh peaches.my recipe calls for all white sugar.now I need to try this.sometimes I use only a half can of mountain dew.this recipe was a winner at the peach contest in s,c.

It sounds wonderful.

Yum!

You can also use 7-Up or Sierra Mist instead of Mountain Dew and I've used the diet cans of the sodas too. Also, it's an easy recipe to halve for just the two of us. I use an 8x8 or 9x9 pan but still use the two apples, cutting each one into four pieces to make the 8 dumplings.

I took these to our prayer/study group and brought home a licked clean dish.

Mt. Dew Apple Dumplings Thanks so much! :P This sounds awsomely yummy. I have my small family over on Christmas Eve and plan to use your recipe! |
this recipe is popular at our church meals too. BTW you can substitute pineapple chunks as well as canned peaches. anything with this much sugar & butter/margrine HAS to be good!!! my recipe calls for 1-1/2 sticks margarine and all white sugar.
