This is my own recipe as far as I know. It sooo good,,but not for those watching calories!!! ( Everyone should have a holiday treat!)

1 loaf French or Italian bread, toen in bites(let the kids help)
11/2 sticks BUTTER
1/2 teas.ground cinnamon
dash of salt
1cup raisins(golden ones look so pretty)
1/2 to 1 cup chopped pecans(I like a lot)
1 teas.orange zest
1quart size carton of egg nog
Mix all this together and pour the egg nog on,about a cup at a time so it absorbs and use what you need to make a "sloppy" mess.Pour into a shallow baking dish or ramekins and bake at 350 til brown on top and bubbly.
SAUCE
1 /2 stick butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 teas.vanilla
Melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan add milk and boil until thick enough for a sauce, about the consistency of gravy, but dont overcook or you will have sticky chewy stuff instead of sauce.Stirn in vanilla and pour into a container for pouring. Dont pour the suace on until you are ready to serve or it all soaks in. You onle need a small amount. This is also good with vanilla ice cream!!! SHUT MY MOUTH!!! YUMMM!

Oh, my, I was raised on Bread Pudding. Never thought to use Egg Nog, I'll try that. I add a little bit of Pine Nuts when I happen to have some, but this looks yummy just as it is.

Any bread will work...the home made would be great,,just any nice bodied bread is best.
