Need help selecting a Juicer

My daughter and son each have a VitaMix juicer which is a powerful machine and make the most wonderful breakfast drinks. When I priced this juicer, I found the price to be prohibitive. Does anyone have a strong-motored juicer to recommend that is more affordable?

Thanks for your help.

My sister raves about the nutri bullet. It is an extractor that leaves the nutritious pulp in the drink. Her kids are even drinking smoothies made with spinach. She said she got it at target for 100 dollars. You can watch infomercials online about it. There are lots of copies so beware so that you get the one that is actually a juicer and not just a mini mixer.

I have a ninga that is very powerful but never tried to use it as a juicer.

I did a lot of research before buying my juicer and read many many reviews. I ended up with the Hamilton Beach Wide Mouth juicer and I have been very pleased with it. The motor is powerful and it is easy to clean, does a great job with just about everything and was less than $100

I have been juicing for about 6 weeks now and at first I got a small cheap juicer from Walmart and then my daughter, who has juiced for 4 years told me about the Breville juicer. OMG I am in heaven with that machine. It has a wide opening, sturdy motor, easily cleaned, juices well and I got mine on sale at Best Buy for $99. They usually run around $149-$400. You will not be disappointed in it if you get one. I juice every day and it just keeps making me wonderful juices.

Bought the bullet-was not impressed. Got the ninja and use it all the time. Best appliance in the kitchen beside the kitchencraft mixer.

I don't have another suggestion for another machine but an idea to put a bug in each of your children's ears to help Mom get a VitaMix- you get money towards something you really want and they don't even have to wrap it. I know they are expensive however they don't just juice the apples, celery, pineapple, carrots, peppers,... they liquify them so there is no pulp or peels to dispose- And that is where a lot of the phytonutrients are. Costco carries them and at my Costco they are doing demos all week. One more thing... they are made in USA- Cleveland, Ohio and Jamba Juice and Starbucks use them. I use mine to make fruit drinks to have as snacks and I also make ice cream in it (lemon, avocado, baby spinach, carrots, agave or honey).

You can order a vita mix that has been reconditioned. I have one of these and it looked brand new and probably better than new.

Check out the Blendtec. blendtec.com
The best price for it is 399.00 at Costco.com and comes with both jars. I sold my Vitamix for several reasons and I'm going to buy the Blendtec shortly.

I've had my Champion juicer for a couple of decades and use it every day for organic carrot juice.

I returned a Blendtec with a faulty circuit board after 3 months of use. I will never give up my Vita-Mix. I use it for nut butters, smoothies, soups, ice cream, super easy clean up. I noticed that Costco now has Vita-Mix on their shelves for three hundred something dollars. I'm going to miss the in-store demonstrations. Those people were always great.

I replaced my bullet with the Ninja and I love it!! I looked at the Vita-Mix and thought it too expensive, plus I didn't really need an honest-to-goodness juicer. I make smoothies all the time and even include some greens in them - bananas hide the taste of almost anything else. :D I also used the Ninja this summer to make Gazpacho. It was delicious and so easy. I dusted off my 40 year old Oster blender - still working well and in beautiful shape - and gave it to a friend who needed a blender.
As the weather turns to winter I expect to start using the bread dough feature on the Ninja, too. BTW, if you are interested in this product it was significantly less expensive at my local BJ's than the online place I actually bought it. :( Learn from my mistake!

My daughter, who has the VitaMix, also looked at the Ninja when she made her purchase. I spoke w/her yesterday about which Ninja model she would recommend and learned that she and Will are purchase one for me. Once I get it and have had an opportunity to use same, I will report back to you all.

Thanks for all of your input.
