New Uses For Caraway Seeds

I was cleaning out the pantry the other day and realized that somehow, I had ordered 3 bags of caraway seeds. Three! How on earth did I do that? They're not that old, but there's a lot of them. I'm trying to come up with some good recipes to use them up. I probably have about 10 cups of them. Got any ideas?

Wow, that's a lot of caraway, a lifetime supply of rye bread even. I do sprinkle them on sauerkraut and sometimes on cheeses.

Here's a cake recipe I would probably like but haven't tried:

How about a liqueur?

O.K., I found this for you. I haven't tried any of these but it might help you get rid of some of them.

Throw some in the freezer for later use and start baking Focaccia bread with some?

Thanks for those recipes, Osewme. I made some spiced apple cake the other day and included a couple tablespoons of ground caraway and also some ground fennel, along with the usually spices s/a cloves, cinnamon, etc. It came out pretty good! My DH asked right away what the secret ingredient was. He couldn't quite put his finger on it.

I'm finding that caraway goes good with other "dark" flavors such as molasses, raisins, dark honey, beer, red wine, etc. I'm going to do some more experimenting.
