How in the world can I make store bought packaged egg noodles taste like homemade? I am a descent cook, but don't know how to accomplish this.

Instead of cooking them in water, cook them in Chicken Broth. This is how the Amish make theirs. And I always put my noodles in before the liquid boils so it absorbs the liquid and the flavor. This is great when you want to serve noodles as a side dish. You can also buy chicken base at the grocery store. It comes in a jar and is solid. This is what the resturants use. Add a spoonful to the liquid.

Homemade egg noodles is a tradition in our family and I boil mine in broth made from scratch and mine do taste more like mothers than the others who make them.
I do believe its cause of the broth.

at this time of year everyone should have TURKEY broth in their fridge or freezer - made from Thanksgiving leftovers.
