Do ya'll know of a recipe that called for Oreo's as the base? It was a box recipe and I can't remember who made it, but last year at Christmas they had this Oreo stuff.. My DS loved it and wanted it this year too, but I can't find it anywhere. I've been to all 3 grocery stores here. If you by chance know of it, please let me know. It'd make a 12 yo very happy!

there are a lot of icebox pies that use Oreo crust instead of graham crackers. Can you be a little more specific?

It's not exactly a recipe, but my kids love "Oreo pie". Buy a premade Oreo cookie crust, mix up instant Oreo pudding and pour it it. It's fast, easy and yummy.

Hmm, Moonpi.. I wish I could be more specific, but I don't honestly remember. I remember having it, but cant' for the life of me remember anything else about it other than DS loved it and I didn't. *L*

I've quizzed the boy and he says it wasn't a pie.. it was in a cardboard pan that came in the box..you mixed it up and put it in the fridge... at least I think... I wonder why he can remember all that, but not the name of it?

I also quizzed DD who is home sick with streph and she says it's like the eagle brand mixes.. but when I go to their page, the only box desserts are Magic Cookie Bars and Decadent Fudge..

These aren't anything like what you are looking for but they are so good and easy.

Oreo Truffles

8 oz. pkg. cream cheese (full fat version, please)
16 oz. Oreo cookies (I like the ones with the chocolate cream centers), crushed
12-16 oz. semi-sweet fine chocolate, chopped
1 T. shortening

Let your cream cheese get to room temp....either place in food processor, kitchen aid or bowl for your hand mixer...whip til broken up. Add half your crushed oreo cookies, mix up well.....add last half of cookies, mix well again. The mixture will begin to look like a solid chocolate color, this is what you want.
Chill mixture til very firm (about 2 hours). Roll into 1" balls, chill again. Melt up your chocolate with a tablespoon of shortening for a more smooth coating.
Dip chilled truffles into chocolate and rest on wax paper. Chill again.
You may drizzle white chocolate or milk chocolate over the tops if you'd like.
makes about 3 dozen truffles. They taste like chocolate covered chocolate cheesecake. yum...

Get out your cooking extracts and try them with Raspberry, Mint, or Orange flavoring added to the oreo/creamcheese mixture. Add some chopped nuts. Toasted Almonds and Chopped Black Walnuts work well.

They put out a oreo cheesecake box mix at Christmas. It is a pudding type mix and the crust is an oreo crust. You mix the crust with butter and put in a pan. It could have come with it's own "pan". Then you mix the cheesecake part like you would instant pudding. Pour the cheesecake in the crust and refrigerate for a couple of hours.

we've had it and it is really good! I don't know if this is what you are looking for but your description made me think of this one. I don't know if it is Jello brand or not. That is the brand of cheesecake mix I have in the cupboard now. You would find it in the pudding area I would think. I have bought it at Walmart in times past.

I haven't read in detail all the recipes that were posted but there is also (if it wasn't mentioned yet) one calle "Dirt or Dirty Pudding".. It has a "crust" (I make it in a 9x13 pan) made of crushed oreos & butter and then a layer of pudding made of cream cheese, french vanilla boxed pudding and cool whip I believe.. then you top it with some more of the crushed oreo stuff. Let me know if you want the recipe.. email me at [email protected] and put Oreo in the subject line so I will know.
