Palomino Cake

I have been looking for this recipe for years. My grandmother who lived in Western Maryland and who was a fantastic baker made this cake during the holiday season. Her recipes were well documented but, unfortunately, they mysteriously disappeared after she passed away. It was a white cake with red and green candied cherries and maybe some coconut. If anyone has ever heard of this, I would be so happy to have the recipe. Thanks in advance.

Was it a heavy or light cake? My mother made blonde fruit cakes for Christmas but they were dense like regular fruit cake.

I don't have the recipe, nor am I familiar with it. My thought though...have you done any searhes using Preakness ax one of the keywords? I want to think I have seen something similar at some of the off track Preakness events I have been to. Good luck.

Just do a search for cherry cake and you may find the recipe like your mom's. There were many to choose from. Good luck.

Very similar to the one my mom used to make every year for Christmas. I think her recipe was just entitled "Light Fruitcake" or similar. :) Happy memories . . .
