2-3 lbs sirloin steak or even a chuck steak, or inexpensive beef 3-4 bell peppers large onion mushrooms (canned or fresh) if you don't like leave them out 3 stalks celery (I like celery) 2 cans spaghetti sauce or jars . I prefer to slice the beef and cut into smaller portions for this . but you may cut into smaller chunks like stew meat. Brown off beef in pan with alittle oil, I again use a cheap seasoned meat tenderizer and a little garlic pwder sprinkled over meat. drain and put aside slice up your green pepper into smaller stips after deseeding and rinsing cut up mushrooms into peices or drain can and chop up if you prefer smaller peices. clean celery and slice into thin peices. Also cut onion into small peices if you like a little onion. Sautee all this now in a little butter or margarine to soften up. Combine meat and vegetables either in a large pot or slowcooker. Add spaghetti sauce. If you cook on stove add some water and mix thoughly and simmmer for 1 and 1/2 hours till meat is tender. You must stir this to keep from scorching and keep an eye on. Love slowcookers for this reason!! In slow cooker mix all and cook on high for 3-4 hours till meat is tender. Serve over RICE or Noodles. Your may substite CHICKEN . I use chicken breast . Saute chicken till meat turns white, add same ingredients.AND COOK THE SAME (This is my version of CHICKEN CACCITORRIE )

I do one very similar, but instead of spag. sauce, I use Campbells Golden Mushroom soup,(2 cans), a half can of water and a couple splashes of teriyaki sauce. We love it!

I will have to try your version Carol. I do get tired of spag sauce after awhile ,and want to try a little something different!

I think you will like it. Start with a little terriaki sauce, and then do to your taste. I serve mine over egg noodle, but rice works too.

I have some short ribs left from bean soup, so this will be my dinner tomororrow night. Got the ribs in fridge defrosting and the rest is already on hand, including the soup.
