Pie things to keep crust from browning too much?

I just put pumpkin Pies in oven and forgot to put foil around crust. I need some of those things, what ever they are called! Does anyone know where i can get them?

Here you go--https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=pie+guards

Altho I'd check Walmart or a local kitchen supplies store too. Pumpkin pie---Yummmmm!!

I bought mine at Bed, Bath & Beyond.

I just have a disposable pie crust pan that I cut out the center and just left about an inch around the rim and use it.

I bought mine in Amish country but I'm sure they aren't hard to find. I'd be lost without mine.

I seen them at walmart today

You can also just tuck a thin strip of foil around the edge.

How do you do your pie crust edge? I used to do a fork pressing around the edge and it browned before the pie was done. I do have a heat resistant shield that goes around the pie edge but after doing a thicker edge , I don’t find I need it. I do the fluted edge now with my finger tips.

Foil works but it's so hard to keep from falling off! That's what I used to use until I got that gadget we're talking about.

So many places carry them these days. I think I bought some at HomeGoods a few years back.

I have the adjustable silicone one, it's okay but floppy. I like the solid metal one the best. I have it in two sizes. One to fit my cast iron skillet and one to fit my regular pie pan.

Yes I had the same problem, where those pie things kept falling off. I use foil if the edges start to get too brown - just tent it over the pie.

I did not like the ones I had. Foil works better. Save your money.

Great idea and cheap!

I never had problems with the top of the pie shell burning until I started cooking my pies on the middle rack. Once I realized that, I have returned to the older method of using the bottom rack and don't need to protect the shell now. I have lowered the temp a little bit to compensate for the pie being closer to electric element. And it does take longer.

I have pie crust shields that work beautifully. On says: "Bandwagon's Pie Crust Shield" and the other says: "Mrs. Anderson's Pie Crust Shield" They are different sizes.

But before I got these, I took a square of heavy duty foil, folded it in fourths and cut out the center circle. I cut some foil off the corners. That worked beautifully, too. I even saved that and used it many times; just put it into the sink with about an inch of water and let it soak a while and it came clean.

I want a thing like that for my pizza. I made a foil one but would like a solid one. The pizza outside edge is always almost burned before the center gets a little brown.

Now that is very clever! I'm stealing your idea!!!

My late husband found mine in a kitchen store. He could spend hours there and as a result I have all sorts of gadgets. My Christmas stocking was always overflowing. I miss my old “bear”.
