I will be having a huge crop of asparagus. We can't eat it all at once. Do you freeze or can? Any suggestions woud be greatly appreciated.

I think you can blanch it, dry, quick freeze in a layer then bag for the "freshest" taste when you're ready to use!

We planted it three years ago. Lst fall it was so thick. I am hoping the winter did not kill it. Wish I could send you some.

i freeze all my vegetables raw, with the exception of summer squash - that doesn't freeze well no matter what you do. i cut into pieces and put in a freezer bag. i then use it for stir-fry.

Yes, I freeze mine!
Just quick blanch it and toss in freezer bags!!!!!!
I love asparagus, one of the first crops around here, we even have itwild in the ditches!

I always quick blanched and froze mine. We liked it just sauteed with a little butter and olive oil.

You're all making me hungry!!! :D My DH just doesn't seem to be able to grow it for me or that's what he tells me. He calls it weeds!!! :thumbdown: I can remember my mother picking it wild. Soooooo gooooood!!!
