Remember Dream Whip ?

Is it still made? I looked today at the store but didn't see it. I will ask next time when I have more time. I want to make Rootbeer Cake (white cake mix made with rootbeer instead of water) I need Dream Whip to make with rootbeer as a topping. This is for my SIL in the nursing home.

I just bought some not long ago. I found it near the pudding on the top shelf.

WOW. I had not thought of it in years.

Yes, it's with the pudding. I used to make frosting with it. Wonder where that recipe is?

I have a banana cake recipe that uses Dream Whip for the frosting. Haven't made it in awhile but it's delish!

I think I've seen it on the shelf at WalMart.

Yes, it's still on the market (at least here in Canada) & usually in the jello, pudding section of grocery stores, WalMart etc.

I found a recipe once for a homemade version, but never tried it myself. You might search the web.

If you live on a farm, do not use raw milk to make the Dream Whip. It's not so bad if you eat it right away; but if you notice on the box it says to use pasteurized milk. If raw milk is used, it begins to taste strange after about a day. Then it gets worse as the days go by. It's not sour or spoiled, but it sure is a strange taste. We finally figured it out when people brought it to church dinners. If it was made the day before with raw milk, it had that funny taste.
