Rolled Sugar Cookies Made Easy

I usually use parchment paper to roll the dough out on and to bake the cookies on as well. Last week after mixing my dough and placing in the refrigerator to chill, I discovered I was out. Well, I discovered a whole new way which works very well. I taped a large piece of freezer paper to the counter (shiny side up) and rolled the dough onto it. I used a small amount of flour, of course, but it didn't take much and my cookies didn't stick to the paper. I then took a bottle of cooking oil and placed my fingers over the hole and tipped it to just get a small amount of oil on my hand and then rubbed the cookie sheet so that it had an ever so light coating of oil. My cookies came right off and were perfect.

I encourage you to try this method - it worked great for me. And guess what, the reason I had the freezer paper to begin with was ............... quilting!

It's funny how we discover neat things by accident. I'm going to give this a try.

I also roll my biscuits on freezer paper then just roll paper up and put in garbage.

I use powdered sugar rather than flour to dust the surface with before I roll sugar cookies.
