In search of a chewy peanut butter cookie
Have baked a couple different recipes for peanut butter cookies that are claimed to be 'chewy'.
I follow the recipes exactly but do not end up with what I say is chewy. Anyone have a recipe for a chewy peanut butter cookie that they would share? Thanks so much. |
I really like using the Peanut Butter Blossom cookie recipe and roll into balls and bake them and NOT put any Hershey's Kisses on the top when they come out of the oven. They seem to be quite chewy. HTH

The best secret I found was to use a mix of Crisco Butter Flavored shortening and butter. Half and half of each. Use any recipe you have just make this adjustment.

I think using brown sugar in a recipe is what makes it chewy. You could try adding molasses.

Have you tried King Arthur? Their recipes never disappoint me and I do a lot of baking. Good luck. Let me know. I'm always looking for new cookie recipes.

I have never tried this on my peanut butter cookies. But to make my chocolate chip ookies chewy I - decrease the white sugar and replace it with brown sugar, remove one of the egg yolks and replace it with a tbsp of milk. Make chewy choc chip cookies.
