Spiralizer

I have had mine for many years and recently bought a new one. Not the silly hand held one, the big counter top one. I love spiral vegetables sauteed with a little butter and seasonings. I have been on a ten servings of fruit and vegetables a day eating plan and spiraling make it fast to prepare.

What brand spiralizer did you purchase? What seasonings are you using?

I would love to have one to make veggies fun. We just had sliced sweet potatoes and zucchini tonight at dinner. It was a colorful combination.

Oooh, that sounds good, Rhonda. How do you fix it?

I'd love to know also, got one for Christmas but not sure what to do with it. What veggies? Spices? Thank you

Here you go!

I sliced the sweet potato and zucchini into thin slices. I like to cut diagonal as it gives you bigger slices.

Add one or two teaspoons olive oil into fry pan and heat. Add veggies slices. Be sure to turn often so they don't get too brown. Cook until potatoes are tender. You can even add the zuchini later. It just depends how you like them.

For seasoning use a small amount of sea salt (if diet allows) and pepper.

This only took about 10 minutes.

The usually combo is zucchini and yellow squash together but I didn't have any yellow squash.

I have never heard of a spiralizer. I'll have to check on it. I am a veggie lover & most fruits. Thank you for sharing

I ordered it from here: http://inspiralized.com/ Everything you need to know about spiraling is on the blog. My favorite recipe and my grands ages 3 and 5 love it. They love to turn the handle too.

I spiral one large zucchini.
I add a little cream cheese to chicken stock and heat until cheese is melted. I add the zucchini and lot of Pecorino Romano or Parmesan cheese. Stir until cheese is melted. Salt to taste. If I have left over cooked chicken I add that. I spiral any vegetable that will stay on the spiralizer. Broccoli stems are very tasty.

OOOPs I didn't order from that website I ordered this one from Amazon. The website has great info and recipes. This one has better reviews so that is why I ordered it. I have one of the hand held ones, but may buy the bigger one yet. I do love the zucchini pasta.

I have a stupid question to ask please. I have so many gadgets that sit in drawers, etc. I was wondering if you could use an apple peeler to do this job as well? I have a really helpful one that I only use once a year to peel apples after we go apple picking.

Not sure if my post went through so I'll ask the question quicker :-) Would an apple peeler work the same way? Has anyone tried using one.
