Too late for Thanksgiving but this one is good. Last year I made it for Christmas. This year I made it for Thanksgiving.

My sister in law mashes them like regular potatoes, with a little milk and butter. She

seasons with a bit of cinnamon and chopped pecans. If she puts in any brown sugar, it is just a bit. I love them

Sorry I didn't see this earlier --hope you try this one too:

Yam & Pineapple Bake
3 large yams, baked, skinned & mashed (can do ahead, and refrigerate)
3/4 cup fresh pineapple, diced small (sub: tidbits, cut smaller, or crushed - do not drain!)
1/3 cup brown sugar
3-4 tablespoons butter, softened
Preheat oven to 350. Coat a 9x9 baking pan with cooking spray. Mix all ingredients together and spoon into dish. Bake 30-40 minutes until hot.

Vary the recipe by adding a little cinnamon, orange or lemon juice, or whatever you want!

If you check out the blog "Happier Than a Pig in Mud", she has a wonderful rustic sweet potato soup. Hubby and I are not crazy about sweet potatoes, but this soup is great.

I microwave them for a few minutes until almost done, then wrap in foil and put them on the BBQ to finish (or the oven if it is too cold outside). Delish with a little butter and a sprinkle of salt.

I use them in biscuits and bread baking...love them that way. www.foodnetworktv.com.
