Sweet Pulled Pork...Yuck!

I bought some pulled pork from Sam's and it is entirely too sweet for my taste. Is there anything I can do to reduce the sweetness? I was thinking about adding vinegar, but I wasn't sure if that's the right way to go.

Your suggestions please.

I know this sounds kinda gross. Can you rinse it and then add your own sauce?

I love the vinegar based pulled pork, maybe that and a few extra spices to mask the sweet, like paprika, cumin, etc.

Exactly what I was thinking .....

Put the pork into a colander and flush away the sauce. You'll still have some flavour that's in the pork already, but add in your favourite sauce and let it meld into the meat. Easiest way to me would be to stuff it all into the crockpot .............. and go and sew for awhile! :)

...unless it's mega lbs., I would just toss and remind myself not to buy it again...

Do you have a big finely made strainer. Rinse it and let it drain and add your own sauce.

Have you tried putting mustard in it - that should change the taste, without rinsing the sauce. This is what I have done in the past to tone down the too sweet taste. JMHO

Get some "old " style bbq sauce like open pit that is more tangy than sweet and ad to it

rinse it but dry it really well and reheat in a frying pan a bit crunchy before you add your own sauce or it might get that funky soggy texture. you could always just add tapatio or tabasco to heat it up so you end up sweet hot? I would rinse it, having done that myself so I could give some a new flavor for an Italian type sandwich.

ps just tossing something like that might not be a viable option. food is so expensive I try hard to make mine work before I give up ..
