Toffee Crunch Trail Mix Valentines Treat
2 Attachment(s)
I was thinking about making a yummy treat to share with my friends and family for Valentines Day.
I decided upon this very addictive Toffee Crunch Trail Mix. It makes a lot so you will have plenty to share with those you love. 1 box Rice Chex cereal 1 box Caramel or Multi Grain Cheerios 1/2 bag pretzels 1 cup coconut 1 cup cashews 1 cup craisins 1/2 cup M & M's 1/2 cup peanuts 1/2 cup sliced almonds 3 sticks butter 2 cups light Karo corn syrup 2 cups sugar Combine all trail mix ingredients in a large bowl or pan and mix well. I use my turkey roasting pan. In a large saucepan combine butter, sugar, and corn syrup. Bring to a boil stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Cook to 238 degrees (soft ball stage). Pour over the trail mix and quicky stir to coat evenly. Be careful as it is very hot. Put a couple strips of waxed paper on your work surface. Dump the mix onto the waxed paper and spread it out a little bit to cool. When completely cooled, put in cute cellophane bags or gift boxes to share with those you love. Peggy |

Oh my, can't wait to try this one. I made a similar one at Christmas but used melted almond bark instead of the sugar, butter and corn syrup. Here comes another five pounds around my stomach. But what a lovely way to gain weight. It might as well be something that tastes really good, right?
