Does anyone have a recipe for used to be called "wash day pie"..I recollect it was more like a cobbler.

shawnemily 02-21-2011 07:33 AM

I searched it and found this...
http://www.floras-hideout.com/recipe...s_Wash_Day_Pie
Does this sound like it? (Except when I read it I think the "fruit juice" probably should be just "fruit"!

This is exactly how I make cobbler, using fruit instead of fruit juice of course. I cook at 350º until done, don't really know how long.

I have a recipe just like Lady Diana's except I use self rising flour and it's called TV Cobbler.

Lady Diana 02-22-2011 01:08 PM

I like the "TV" rather than "Wash Day" title...

This is the same one I make a lot but it is called Lazy Man's Peach Cobbler. I use Cherry Pie Filling because I don't like peaches but you could use any kind of canned fruit or pie filling.
