Merry ChristMouse....sorry it took me so long to share these. My brain has been on delay for about 6 months.
This picture isn't the greatest. I remember the "snacks" looking cuter.

The what and how:
Oreo cookies separated, icing side up so the mice stay upright.
Heads are Hershey's kisses.
Body is a Maraschino cherry with stem dipped into melted chocolate.
Ears are two almond slivers.
I put a little of the melted "dipping" chocolate on the bottom of the kiss and attached the almonds. Then, I pressed the cherry to the almonds after dipping. I held the cherry by the stem to let most of the excess chocolate drip off. The cream on the oreo will help hold the body of the mouse together while it sets.
Then, I put them in the fridge.
THe pic isn't of the best ones I made. I took some black buttercream icing and made eyes on some of them. The ones in the pic have white jimmies for eyes. I don't think they looked as good like this. I used some round "sprinkles" for their little red noses.
Tail is the cherry stem.
I sprinkled chocolate jimmies in the serving tray to look like mice "evidence"....
I wanted to add some little decorative holly made with BC icing around the bottom of the mice/cookie to hide some of the oreo icing and give it a more finished look, but I was pressed for time!

Oh those are so cute! Did you post directions for them before? Would be fun for a b-day party.

How cute! You just reminded me of the tipsy cherries I used to make - Around Thanksgiving, replace Maraschino cherry juice with cream de cacao or brandy, and leave in cool spot - by Christmas, they are wonderful little fruit bombs.

what a creative idea!!

For Halloween last year I made witches fingers... they were an almond shortbread in the shape of fingers... I made an indentation where the fingernail would be with an almond sliver, and I also cut in knuckle lines.... after they were baked, I lifted up the almond finger nail and put a red decorator gel dab then pushed the almond down so it looked like blood was squished underneath the nail.. eeeeeeeewww... I brought them to work and to my quilt class on Halloween. I found some cool paper black spiders in the scrapbook section of Michaels to make it look like spiders were scurrying all over the the box of witches fingers.... I got some really good comments and a few people were a little disturbed LOL... they thought they look too real for them. I'll have to find a photo of them and post them

Thanks. I must admit the idea wasn't an original. I saw a picture of these things somewhere and was immediately amazed! I thought, "HOW COOL! I can do that!" hehe.

I also keep looking at my pic I posted of these mice. I don't have a better pic, but I'm thinking these things were better-looking for real. ?
