I will usually stick the container in the microwave for a few seconds to liquefy the syrup, etc. more so it can all be removed with a spatula.

Spray your measuring cup with Pam, or the like, and then put your syrup, honey, or molasses in it.

Warming and spraying help, but I use the blender many times to mix up all the liquid things. After you have a cup of ingredients in the blender container, you can use the markings on the blender jar to add the oils, sweeteners and shortening. No measuring cups to wash. And as for the stuff left in that jar: I keep back about half a cup of liquid. After the blender contents have been added to the dry ingredients, put that half cup of liquid into the jar and blend on low until the container is "washed". Use a scraper to get it all loose. Then add this to the bowl with the dry and wet ingredients.
I make all my cakes this way and puddings, too. I put just a half cup of liquid into the blender with the dry pudding ingredients and eggs and bring the rest to a boil. Pour some of the boiling liquid into a cup and pour the rest into the blender while it is running on low. Pour the blender ingredients into the pan and pour the liquid from the cup into the blender to "wash" it. Then pour this into the pan with the rest. This will cook much faster, and there is very little waste in the blender. |
I rinse the measuring cup with water and dump it out. Then measure your sticky ingredient and empty out.

I do the same thing non stick spray releases ALL the sticky mess.

If the recipe calls for oil I measure the oil first then use that cup to measure the syrup. Otherwise, I don't worry about it :thumbup:

Syrup is considered a liquid, It is measured in a liquid measuring cup, not a measuring cup for dry ingredients. They measure differently.
A greased cup will pour out every last drop. |
I measure the oil first and then the syrup. It all comes out with the oil residue.

I have seen some measuring cup made by OXO that the bottom pushes everything out. Very clever.
