Yes, sweetened condensed milk (I think it is about 1/2 can)... and no, it doesn't have to be refrigerated.

Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks, Donna.

I'm wondering if this will work with semi-sweet choc. chips. It would be nice to package both white and chocolate as a gift.

It sets up just as good, but to me it didn't taste as good. I wonder if it would be better with the semi-sweet choc. chips and almonds?

Don't know about that - I don't like almonds. What was it you didn't like about the choc. version? Would using unsweetened baking choc. squares be better? Maybe the choc. flavor would be more intense.

Stop to think about it, buying white choc chips. sweetened milk and 12 oz. baking choc. would make it pretty darned expensive fudge!

With the chocolate chips, the toasted pecans didn't have as much flavor. I hadn't thought about the ingredients being that expensive... My regular chocolate fudge recipe may make more, cost is probably about the same, but it is harder to do and a lot more time consuming.

Boy does this sound good I am going to add it to my list of candies I plan on making. I like it also because it makes
a small pan \. That way I can make other small pans of candy/ I love to bake. :) I will let you know after I make it but white chocolate sounds good.
