My son-in-law, daughter, and myself tried this yesterday morning...right after I read it here. This is the best, most fun thing to do on a Sunday morning. We were laughing, chopping, cracking eggs and jokes, and generally having a great time. The omelets were perfect and delicious! This has to be the best forum I have ever seen. Great quilting tips and recipes! Thanks for sharing this recipe. We are forever in you debt. Breakfast is a big deal around here and Ziploc Omelet is now a favorite.

Made this for my husband this morning and we enjoyed the time spent with my huband in stead of standing over the stove, thanks for the tip.

Have seen it done at Giirl Scouts and at Sorority brunches and all sure is easy. Enjoy someimes the cooking times has varied a few minutes possibly. Enjoy

This is great and just a little bit funny. :) Does the name remain on the Ziploc label even after it's cooked?

Now that is something I do not know and never thought about it . Can't remember seeing that there was a name on it- you question is great. Try Sharpie pen on one under hot tap water or in the microwave and let know now I am very interested!!!!!!!!!!!! emmy

This sounds great.
Does it matter what size ziplock bag is used?

We have been doing this for years! Eliminates a lot of the egg smell from frying omelets when guests are over. No smell in my drapes!
Also bake bacon on jelly roll pan and tin foil in a 400 degree oven (don't need to preheat) for 20 min, turn and bake 6-8 more min. (This is for thick bacon-thin would be less time) Drain. No bacon shrinkage! YUM!

I sent this to some friends, they emailed back that they would be very careful as the plastic is not supposed to be boiled and can perhaps put off toxins.
It is a neat idea, just be careful
