This is a Taste of Home one I use

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

3 cups Bisquick
1/4 cup sugar

Wisk together 1/2 c Vanilla Yogurt, 1/3 cup milk and 1 TBS. Vanilla (maybe you could use orange extract?)

Mix loosely with large fork

Add ... 1 cup of craisins (soak in hot water for a few mins - drain)

Knead 10 Times. Pat into a circle.... Sprinkle with Cinnamon/sugar mix.
Cut into 8 wedges.
Place on Ungreased baking sheet. (leaving a tiny space between wedges) Bake 20 - 25 mins.

the recipe does not call for orange - hope you can adjust to fit your needs.

Also... Mini Chocolate Chips could be used in place of craisins using vanilla extract

Also keeps for a few day in tight plastic container refrigerated.

Well, it is not homemade but King Arthur's Flour has a delicious cranberry-orange scone mix that we love. Probably better than I could make anyway.

From one of my favorite recipe websites - you know if it comes from a B&B it has to be good. I love scones!

Dried Cranberry Scones
From BROOKSIDE MANOR BED & BREAKFAST

Prep Time:
10 minutes
Cooking Time:
15-20 minutes
Yield:
24 pieces

Dried cranberrys and orange zest make a delightful scone

Ingredients

1 cup buttermilk
1 cup dried cranberries
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup margarine or butter (I use butter)
1 tsp orange zest (optional)

Directions

Ingredients are listed in order of addition.

1. Combine first 5 ingredients in bowl and mix until mixture looks like crumbs.

2.Add the next two ingredients and mix until dry ingredients are moistened.

3. Gather dough into ball and knead lightly twelve times on lightly flour surface.
4. Divide dough into 4 pieces.
5. Pat each section into a circle 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick.
6. Cut each circle into 6 pie wedge pieces.
7. Transfer to baking sheet. I keep each circle together on baking sheet.

8. Brush each scone with:

2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon milk or cream (I use skim milk)

9. Bake at 400 F, 15-20 minutes. Oven temperatures vary! Cooking time is based using gas oven and REMA baking sheet.

10. Enjoy!

Scones
Makes 12

2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup sugar
4 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons shortening
3/4 cup cream
1 egg
Leave plain or add a handful dried currants or raisins

Heat oven to 375 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Mix well. Cut in butter and shortening. In a separate bowl, combine cream with beaten egg then add to dry ingredients. Stir in fruit. Turn dough out onto a floured surface. Roll dough out and cut into biscuit size rounds. Bake for 15 minutes or until brown.

You can substitute graded orange rine and cranberries for the raisins.

Leave out the 1/4 cup of sugar and substitute 1/4 cup of orange marmalade. Cut down the liquids by 1 Tablespoon. You have orange scones.

I have a great scone recipe I make. It's on Allrecipes.com. SIMPLE SCONES is what you look for in Allrecipes.
I have made them in the food processor and standup mixer. I prefer the standup mixer as it doesn't dice the dried orange cranberries. They come out soft and delicious. I highly recommend this recipe. Enjoy. I always get great reviews on the scones.
