my sons garden has the best cabbage ready now, so sweet and young. I had heard somewhere that you could "wilt" cabbage for rolls in the micro...called the girl and she wasn't home. SO I wrapped the whole head after taking out the core in seran wrap and put it in the micro for 6 min. OH MY, the head just fell apart. Couldn't believe it, had those cabbage rolls all done without having to boil water etc to roll. They were so good....

Good idea. Heard you could freeze the whole cabbage, too.

this is the way I make them,

1 can tomato soup + 1/2 can water
1 can chopped tomators with seasonings
    mix together

mix 1 # hamburger, 1 egg and 1 package of rice mix (chicken, beef, mexican etc.) I use mexican. Add about 1 cup of the tomato mixture and mix thoroughly. I put the cabbage after taking it from the micro and put it in the sink and run cold water over it so I can handle it. I put a layer of tomato mixture and cut up cabbage I can't use to roll in the bottom of my slow cooker...put rolled cabbage on top and put the rest of the tomato on top. about 4 hours on high and no HOT kitchen
