Thumbs up Great researching!

What a great idea and right after I just purchased one, LOL! I did think of the blankets idea, but it really is hard to find 100% wool these days so I just bit the bullet and bought the mat.

I have used all kinds of paper to draw the designs with pencil which I know will disappear with washing the quilt.

I never use pencil since I marked darts on a dress and it turned sort of green...

I thought Sharpies were permenant! I used kids washable markers without a problem. Always test any marker on your fabric before marking your acual quilt. I also love the Frxion (sp) pens.
