Yes, I prefer to do "kits". I'm color- picking out challenged and am attracted to patterns and kits because of the color.All my kits are just material , no pre-cuts.

I feel the excessive quilting takes the comfort out of it. I like the quilting to enhance, not hide the top. The competition quilts are overdone IMO.

I send mine to a longarmer. My FMQ is not good enough and I'm not comfortable doing it, so after all the $$ invested in the quilt-top I want it to look good!

I try to buy quilt kits. I'm not good at picking fabric and usually if I'm attracted to a kit, it's because of the colors and that's why I want it. I've bought from Keepsake quilting and Connecting...

Just remember to stitch over 2 threads. A 14 count Aida and a 28 count linen can be worked the same. I also prefer to work on linen. I found the Aida cloth is stiff and hard on my hands

I'm Beve from CA, fairly new to quilting, but...

I'm Beve from CA, fairly new to quilting, but jumped in with both feet. I use a featherweight for classes and a Viking Sapphire at home. I also do card making, read a lot and raise Brittanys.
