I have a Juki and it is very good for free motion. Its an older one so the harp isnt much over 8-9"
They ran about $800-900 several years ago. Its a work horse !!

I applique just through the top--put blocks...
I applique just through the top--put blocks together--sandwhich as usual and quilt. You can use ink, thread, or beads to do eyes. Do any beading after you quilt, then you dont have to worry about...

I do a lot of applique and this is the way I do...
I do a lot of applique and this is the way I do it. It is sooooo much easier and quicker. Eliminates all the tracing and making of templates. Give it a try and hope you like it.

For our 25th Ann. I made a pictorial wall hanging. Used my wedding dress on "me" and even went to DH closet and cut a foot off a pair of his slacks for "him" :) Turned out great.

Colors are a big problem for me also but mainly cuz Im color blind !! I have a great quilty friend that helps me a lot, and there are times I just "go for it" lol I do think kits are great .
