I "stage" mine before I leave- neatly stack the WIP, put all tools away, run the lint roller over the floor. That way if I am away from it for a while, I can find everything just where it belongs....

That's right! Cutting out clothing patterns results in many odd edges. I do not trim mine straight so I won't lose any fabric that might be usable.
