what we did for our well to help remove the iron...
what we did for our well to help remove the iron and some of the other stuff, installed a sand filter . A pool or spa supply place can tell you how to install. They are used on some pools.

I used regular sheets on mine , for the bottom...
I used regular sheets on mine , for the bottom sheet I sewed extra fabric in each corner so the would stay on the mattress.

I have worn clothes and slept under many quilts...
I have worn clothes and slept under many quilts made from feed sacks. they lasted for ever. my mom carded the cotton out of the cotton fields for the batting .

My first memory of quilts/quilting is my Mom and neighbor women having quilting get together working on one quilt . all sitting around the quilting frame just talking and sewing.
