I just made a lap size quilt using the bow tie pattern. I thought it went pretty quick. I also have made one using the disappearing nine patch. That is kind of fun putting it back together.

I would put a white border around it and then maybe make the sash out of strips of your colors. Its yours so make it yours by doing what you feel comfortable with.
