Paper piecing is the best way I know of to use up...
Paper piecing is the best way I know of to use up scraps. all most any size of scrap can be used. Maybe even try a Mariner's compass. It is way easier than it looks when you paper piece it.

Is it too late to be adopted??? I can paper-piece have no patience with piecing by machine except for paper, love hand-quilting except that it takes me years to finish...I am terrified of machine...
