When you "crunch" your quilt use a black spring...
When you "crunch" your quilt use a black spring loaded clip to hold the quilt together and stitch across the waist not the crotch when joining the binding.

I would suggest that you call Singer customer service. They are extremely helpful with answers and lots of patience. Their number (800) should be in your manual.
