When my belt starts to slip instead of tightening...
When my belt starts to slip instead of tightening it I use rosin. I read about it in treadle on and it seems to work. http://www.treadleon.net/sewingmachineshop/treadles/installingtreadlebelt.html

I have the same machine only mine is a treadle. I lost the treadle when my house flooded in Superstorm Sandy but I was able to save the machine. It really is a good machine. Enjoy it.
