I frequently use a checkerboard pattern for these quilts, as it is very easy and quick to do. So it would be a juvenile print for one block and then a black block next to it. So it ends up 50% black....

Use of black in juvenile quilts?

I make a lot of donation quilts for the family advocacy center in town. I hesitate to use black in them. I do use dark brown frequently, just not black.

Does anyone else have a problem with black?

I bought the Steam Press mini iron from walmart a while back. Just like a regular iron, only 1/4 size. Use it all the time. but have never put water in it. I have a regular size iron if I need steam.
