The Lonestar that was made by DGF has 8 points and this was back in the early half of the last century around 1950.
I never saw a five point either.

I just looked at a quilt with stippling and put the quilt on my frame and followed what I thought the stitch looked like. I didn't like it but my DDIL thought it was lovely.

It's up to you. I made a huge mistake in a gift quilt but did not discover it until I had quilted over half of the quilt so I quilted right over that little thing and nobody knows it but me.
