    Presser foot up or down?

    When storeing a machine should the presser foot be up or down? I've been told it should be up so there is no tension on the spring that raises the presser foot. Seems to make sense. Whaddaya think?

    Did some online research. According to the serial number AB661652, it is a model 99 made June 15, 1927 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. I particularly like the knee controller instead of a foot pedal.
