As for the pencil markings -- There is an eraser for fabric that will get them off. I bought it years ago so do not know the brand. A soft tan artist eraser probably will work also.

I sandwhich insulbrite between cotton quilt batting then pretty cover on outside. DO NOT QUILT INSULBRITE. heat comes thru the holes. The binding holds the insulbrite in just fine.

6 point stars are made with either a 60 degree triangle or 60 degree diamond ruler. If you use the triangle. the bottom of the star can be pieced before cutting, much easier then piecing triangles....
