Beautiful fabrics. Are they maybe from the 1980s? The only product I have found that seems to remove odors from fabrics is OxyClean.

If the feed dogs don't drop, tape an index card over them. The fabric slides quite well over the card. I love old sewing machines, buy them at auctions, and of course they don't have the handbook...
